Pabini Gabriel-PetitFor more than 15 years, at companies such as Google, Cisco, WebEx, and Apple, Pabini has set strategic direction for user experience and led UX design and user research for Web, mobile, and desktop applications. With expertise in all aspects of UX design—including interaction design, visual interface design, information design, UI text, and information architecture—Pabini has designed innovative applications for diverse product domains, encompassing consumer and enterprise products. Previously, as VP of UX at scanR, Pabini led UX strategy and design for award-winning mobile and Web applications that let users scan digital photos of whiteboards and documents, then view and manage their scans. Formerly, as UX Manager at WebEx, Pabini led UX strategy, design, and user research for online meeting and collaboration applications. She designed the award-winning Meeting Center and Training Center, setting the industry standard for online meeting software. Clients of Pabini’s Silicon Valley consultancy have included GetJar, scanR, Google, Cisco, Tellme, WebEx, and Apple. In addition to bringing UXmatters to the UX community, Pabini is a Cofounder and former Director of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) and is IxDA Local Leader for Silicon Valley, Co-Chair of BayDUX, BayCHI IxD BOF (Birds of a Feather) Leader, and a former Interactions Editorial Board Member.
